Art Journal Week 1

I sit here today procrastinating,

I decided that dinner and coffee was by far more important than writing todays blog..

Well I know that it is, but I know that I can do better for you who follow me.

Today is our first Art Journal project, it took me a long time to get into my crafting chair as I am currently full of a cold. Now don’t laugh I am also trying to watch Call the Midwife, talk about multitasking…

I also feel that it is right to give you an update on my health, I am now using a walking stick full time. It has taken me a long time to come to terms that I need this help with my leg, but I do feel safer by using it. I am also looking to retrain within the health system, I will be hanging up my stethoscope and will be picking up my formal shirts, and back polished shoes and moving into case management. I will share more with you as the information comes to light.

Art journaling time

This week’s prompts:

  1. Let us Celebrate
  2. Must be interactive

That’s it ladies, please get into your craft space and play….

Stamping Sunday 25/3/18

OUT OF ORDER!!!!

Bloody hell, my back and leg are playing up like made….I do also have family that I have not seen for a very long time at home, so I have not yet had time to record a video for you...

So today I am only going to have a couple of photos for you to look and admire at…. Carrying on with the sneak peek of our new mini-series….

We are going to start Art Journaling….

Now before you freak out and click away, I have noted a couple of examples of what we are going to be giving ago.. Now remember I am no artist, I need my stamps, prompts, and some creative outlet that is not scrapbooking or cardmaking, but I was thinking what the hell can I do, I don’t want to be creating thousands of cards to try and sell or give away, and while I still have about a thousand photos to scrapbook there is only so much of those I can do and not get bored. So please give this ago with me, now you will need something to put your art work in such as a book, or tags, well actually I simply made some tags from some of our chipboard that comes with out cardstock…

‘Art journaling does not have to be expensive or complicated. It’s one of the most forgiving ways to make art because in an art journal, everything you make is safely contained within your own personal book. You may choose to never share any of your pages with anyone (or everyone!) so it’s a space where you can let loose and explore with colors, shapes, lines, and your words all at once. You may choose to leave your journals more free-form and expressive, or you may want to have more of a “finished” art product on each page’.  (Link here)

‘Simply put, Art Journaling is a visual diary--it's record keeping combined with creativity! It’s a place to record your thoughts, memories, and emotions through images, art and words. The number one rule about Art Journaling is that…there are NO rules.’ (Link here)

"Art journaling is about the creative process
of pulling together color, words and images
as you wish, on a page. Unlike many other
forms of art, it is not about the outcome."
Tammy Garcia

Mike (click here) is someone that I have been watching for the last couple of months and he has really inspired me to do this…I have even downloaded some of his digi files for my personal use...

So, what are we going to need going forward??

You’ll need some supplies:

  • Art Journal/Tags/Watercolour paper/Chipboard – Something to create on
  • Ink (well we already have that) or pain (if you want to be messier) and somehow to apply
  • Stamps
  • Stencils
  • Ribbon
  • Stickers
  • Ephemera: you can either make your own, buy some, or steel (sorry) download from the internet
  • Some time, commitment, courage, faith, and a drive to just give it ago

So why not give this ago, so what we are going to do, I am going to on a weekly basis complete at least one art journal page/tag and I will share with you my process, now as you know I do not edit my video’s so I am going to have to learn, but in the mean time I will video in short bursts and load a couple here, or if it is going to take too long then I will take photos and then upload them with an explanations of what I am doing…

If you do need some supplies I am very happy for you to purchase though me (click here) and make sure that you select me (Andre Gordon) as your demonstrator and please use the host code as you will share in the rewards.....

Welcome to casing Thursday,

Today I am casing a card from the 200-2011 catalogue (Link here), I am using the Australia and New Zealand, so the layouts may be different…

I just love what I created in the end, but wow did I have a difficult time with the glimmer paper.

Anyway, here is the video, I am not going to babble on any more… Enjoy…

 P.S

Tag Journaling - Sneak Peek...

Tag Journaling

A little peek into our new Mini Series ....

Cut out some tags from Chipboard 4x6 inch and then used some window sheet from a stamp set and cut out 5x7 ish to create a cover

Covering my tag with Gesso, and allowing to dry, then I have a base to stamp and colour as I want to..

Then I distressed some Ephemera up and used some ink for added distress

Finally adding details to create my tag...

Technique Tuesday - Watercolour Effects..

Today we will be using our new stamp positioner to water colour some cute butterfly’s.

It is easy, and it produces some amazing effects, by using water colour paper it allows it to absorb more water and ink thank our normal whisper white cardstock. Yes, you can still use it, but it will buckle more and be more delicate to use until it is fully dry..

I did mention that this is the best time to join Stampin’ Up! if you want your big-ticket items, I have worked it out for the New Zealand market that if you use the offers well, you can get almost $500 worth of product for less than $200… So why not get those items and have some fun along the way..

Casing Thursday 2009-2010

Casing Thursday - 2009-2010

Disclaimer: I am using the Australia and New Zeland Catalouges

This Catalogue that I will link here, was an amazing catalogue to go through. So much ideas, and so much inspiration that I just went giddy. But when the second release of SAB (Clink here) came out I just knew what I had to do. I headed over to page 79… So that’s what I did, and once you watch the video, you will understand that the jelly beans I used have now been eaten… I am just so bad with sweets… They do not last long in my house and the Dr must make sure that he either buys ones that have gluten in them or store these open packets in his container of gluten containing biscuits, so I cannot eat them.

Remember that we are getting close to the end of SAB, so now is the time to get those last freebies that you have had your eyes on. Also, it is very important to note that as we are only a few months away from the end of this year catalogue things will start selling out fast… Remember Fast fuse, we have been told that this is not going to retired so we are eagerly awaiting with what they are going to replace this with. With the early release of the stamparatus, I am really looking forward to what else they are going to release to go with this. I am hoping that they will have a carry case, and a cleaning cloth… Now that would be amazing..

With Fast Fuse once this is no longer available in your area, it is not going to be replaced, so get in quick if you love this stuff. I am now down to my last refill, so I am not going to replace this as I do not want to be using a product that is going to be difficult to get hard of.

The final thing that I wanted to remind you of is to DON’T forget to subscribe to my blog and if you enter your birthday you will receive an email asking for your postal address…

So before I let you loose with the video, this is how I craft. I had things to what I thought was correct… But no, you will see me going rouge…. Real rouge…
