P retty card perfect for many occasions using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Whisper White Thick Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Black Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Basic Black Cardstock at least 2" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 2" wide
Shake the bottle of Frost White Shimmer Paint while the lid is on tight. Remove the lid and place it on some Grid Paper on your work surface open end up. Poke a Sponge Dauber down into the lid to pick up some of the shimmer paint. Swipe the inky Sponge Dauber all over the center of the 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" white rectangle. Get more shimmer paint on the dauber as needed. Put the lid back on the bottle and shake again if necessary. Set aside to let it dry for minute.
Mount the "thinking of you" sentiment from the Wonderful Romance Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the scrap of white cardstock.
Tip: Be very, very careful when removing the stamp from the case and from the block. This is one of the new Cling Stamps and they stick really well! If you aren't careful, you can tear the foam on the stamp.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it positioned in the center of the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-3/4" Circle Punch. Slide the black scrap into the punch. Punch.
Adhere the sentiment circle to the black center.
Mount the large flower bouquet image from the Wonderful Romance Set on Block E. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the shimmered white cardstock so the stems point down into the right corner and the flower on the left side of the bouquet is about 1/4" from the left edge.
Tip: Be very, very careful when removing the stamp from the case and from the block. This is one of the new Cling Stamps and they stick really well! If you aren't careful, you can tear the foam on the stamp.
Place the shimmered, stamped white rectangle on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the light colors first and add highlights with the darker colors. If needed to blend the colors, go over things again with the lighter colors. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Light and Dark Mint Macaron Markers to color in the bigger leaves and stems.
Use the Light and Dark Highland Heather Markers to color in the flowers.
Use the Dark Soft Sea Foam Marker to color in the rest of the leaves.
Tip: Because you are coloring on top of the Shimmer Paint background, it may take a little longer for the inks to dry.
Adhere the shimmered, stamped, and colored white rectangle to the black rectangle.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the matted white/black rectangles so it is about 7/8" from the bottom. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the black rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Whisper White Thick card.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted sentiment circle to the card front so it is centered over the ribbon on the right side.
Cut a 3" piece of the Black 3/8" Glittered Organdy Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front and tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
Carefully peel up 3 tiny pearls from a sheet of Pearl Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the centers of the flowers.
