T his card uses the Technique, Direct to Paper using Sponge Daubers. I used this technique on the blooms and I think it really created a softer watercolor effect to the flowers.
Project Recipe
Using sponge daubers, dab the lightest color onto the stamp. For the bigger leaf on this card, I used Old Olive first in the middle of the leaf. I then used Mossy Meadow around the edges and for the leaf vein. For the medium sized flower, dab Crushed Curry in the middle and Tangerine Tango around the edges, stamping a Chocolate Chip Center. For the small flower, I used Cherry Cobbler dab on with the sponge daubers, stamping the center with Chocolate Chip. The small leaves are dabbed with Old Olive and stamped with Mossy Meadow for the leaf vein.
Using the Botanical Builder Thinlets, cut out the flowers and leaves. If there are any white pieces of cardstock showing, I sponged around the edges, this all added depth to the flowers and leaves.
Cut out the biggest flower using Tangerine Tango scraps, sponge around the petals and in the center of the flower. Curl the flower petals out and around to create a more 3-D flower. I added an Iced Rhinestone for "bling".
Cut out the black piece using the leaves piece from Botanical Builder Framelits and attach to the Cajun Craze layer of the card.
Attach all of the flowers and small leaves using Dimensions, for the larger leaf, I just glued that one down.
Stamp the sentiment using Chocolate Chip and your card is finished.
