Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from So Saffron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 3-3/4" x 5" of multicolored sprinkles on white background design from Ice Cream Corner Designer Series Paper
- 3" x 4-1/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 3-3/4" from Blackberry Bliss Cardstock
- 2" x 3" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 3-1/4" from So Saffron Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Ice Cream Corner Designer Paper to the front of the So Saffron card.
Pick out the stitched rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 2-5/8" x 4". Put it on top of the large So Saffron rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Cut three pieces of Blackberry Bliss Striped Ribbon each 3-3/4" long.
Lay the pieces of ribbon diagonally across the So Saffron stitched rectangle cut out so they are evenly spaced as shown. Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the centers to hold them in place. Leave the protective backings in place for now.
Flip the So Saffron stitched rectangle cut out with ribbon attached over and secure the ends of the ribbons in place using pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive. Remove the protective backings, add more Stampin' Seal as needed, and adhere the rectangle cut out with ribbon attached to the front of the card in the center.
Pick out the detailed, floral rectangle die from the Ornate Layers Dies that cuts out a rectangle that is 2" x 3-3/8". Put it on top of the Blackberry Bliss rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine. Use the Take Your Pick Die Brush Tip and paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Put Stampin' Seal on the back of the Blackberry Bliss floral rectangle cut out and remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape holding the ribbons in place on the So Saffron rectangle cut out. Adhere the floral rectangle cut out to the center.
Mount the crazy-headed chicken image from the Hey Chick Set on Block D. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white rectangle.
Pick out the matching, crazy-headed chicken die from the Chick Dies. Put it on top of the stamped image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the image is centered in the die. Run through the machine.
Make sure you have some paper (Grid Paper works great) at your work space.to protect the work surface. The Stampin' Blends Markers will bleed through the cardstock that you are coloring so you need to protect your work surface.
Place the chicken cut out on the work paper and start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas.
Use the Dark and Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends to color in the chicken's head feathers and tail feathers.
Use the Light Blackberry Bliss Stampin' Blends to color in the chicken's legs, beak, eyeball, and feathers on the chest.
Use the Light and Dark So Saffron Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the chicken's body and feet.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess ink.
Adhere the colored chicken cut out to the front of the card so it is centered side to side on the floral rectangle cut out and the head feathers overlap the detailed edges of the floral rectangle cut out on the upper left corner a bit.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Hey Chick Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Blackberry Bliss Ink Pad. Stamp it on the strip of So Saffron in the center near one end, leaving room to punch the sentiment out.
Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Hold it upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Use Mini Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the sentiment punch out to the front of the card so it overlaps the bottom of the chicken's feet and is centered side to side.
