I was playing with this stamp set, and I wanted to use the Layering Diorama dies, so here's how it turned out.
Project Recipe
Measurements:
•Thick Basic White Cardstock 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"
scored at 4-1/4". This is the card base.
•Basic White Cardstock 3-1/2" x 3-1/2" for the
image & 3/4" x 3-1/4" for the greeting.
•Coastal Cabana 3-1/2" x 4" for the frame & 1"
x 3-1/2" for tag
•Cotton Ribbon Combo Pack 9" Petal Pink
Stamp the image with Gray Granite Classic Stampin' Pad (I chose this color because it's light. I preferred Whisper White, but it was too hard to see.)
Use a sharp Watercolor Pencil to outline the image with the colors you want to use. Do not color in the stamp*, only outline it.
I prefer to work with one color at a time.
I used Bermuda Bay for the pants and the barrette in her hair, Daffodil Delight for the shirt, Real Red with Pumpkin Pie for the hair, Melon Mambo for the pillows, Night of Navy for the cup, Early Espresso for the window frame.
*I used Calypso Coral to very lightly color in the skin. I did not use the Blender Pen on it.
Use a Blender Pen to gently drag the color from the outline to color it in. With each color, clean the blender pen by dragging it across the grid paper until the tip is clean.
Repeat this step for each color.
Using the third and fourth smallest Diorama dies to cut out the trim from the Coastal Cabana cardstock. This will create the trim for the opening for the colored stamp.
Cut the front of the card base using the third smallest Diorama die. Leave enough clearance around the die to add the trim.
Line up the watercolored image behind the front of the card and adhere it in place.
Use the Lovely Labels Punch to cut the ends of the 3/4" x 3-1/4" basic white cardstock. Stamp the greeting in the center of the label in Basic Gray Classic ink.
Use the Lovely Labels Punch to cut the ends of the 1" x 3-1/2" Coastal Cabana cardstock.
Adhere the greeting to the center of this piece of cardstock.
Run tape adhesive on the back of the mounted label in a slight diagonal pattern to adhere the ribbon to.
Leave a tail of ribbon on the left side of the tag and across the back. Create a loop on the right side and adhere the ribbon to the back and cut the tails to the desired length.
Adhere the tag to the front of the card using Dimensionals or, my favorite, part of a Foam Sheet.
Add gems to the front of the card. I used Coastal Cabana gems from the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.
TA-DA!
I hope you enjoy the card.
