C ute Christmas card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 2-1/4" x 4" from Soft Suede Cardstock
- 2" x 4" of brown tree trunks on white background design from Rings Of Love 12" x 12" Designer Series Paper, cut so the trunks run vertically on the vertical rectangle
- 1-3/4" x 2-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1" x 2" from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock
- 1" x 1-1/2" from Soft Suede Cardstock
Adhere the piece of Rings Of Love Designer Paper to the center of the large Soft Suede rectangle. The top and bottom edges will be even.
WITHOUT ADHERING, lay the matted designer paper on the left side of the large, horizontal white rectangle so it is about 1/4" from the left side.
Mount the "Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year" sentiment from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it along the bottom right side of the large, horizontal white rectangle so it is centered between the right side of the matted designer paper and the right side of the white rectangle and is about 1/4" from the bottom.
When happy with the sentiment stamping, adhere the matted designer paper in place.
Adhere the stamped white rectangle with matted designer paper adhered to it to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
Mount the gnome with lantern image from the Kindest Gnomes Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the small Basic White rectangle.
Pick out the matching gnome die from the Gnomes Dies. Put it on top of the stamped gnome image on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered over the image. Run through the machine.
Tip: It is often better to cut images out with dies before spending all the time to color them in. That way if the dies slip during the cutting process, you haven't wasted a lot of time on the coloring.
Place the gnome cut out on some Grid Paper to protect your work surface. You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Use the Light and Dark Soft Suede Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's hat and pants.
Use the Light and Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shirt sleeves.
Use the fine point of the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin' Blends to outline the stitches on the gnome's hat.
Use the Light and Dark Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to color in the gnome's shoes and frame of the lantern.
Use the fine tip of the Light Gray Granite Stampin' Blends to outline the streaks in the gnome's beard. Leave the rest of the beard white.
Use the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin' Blends to color in the light in the center of the gnome's lantern.
Use the Light (SU900) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to add shadows to the gnome's nose and hands.
Use the Light (SU1000) Natural Tones Stampin' Blends to color in the rest of the gnome's nose and hands.
Use the Color Lifter Stampin' Blends as needed to remove excess color.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored gnome cut out to the front of the card just above the stamped sentiment and on the left side of the sentiment as shown.
Pick out the both mushroom stem dies from the Gnomes Dies. Put them both on top of the small Soft Suede rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Pick out both mushroom cap dies from the Gnomes Dies. Put them both on top of the small Cherry Cobbler rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces if needed.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the mushroom stems in place on the front of the card just to the right of the gnome cut out as shown.
Adhere one mushroom cap cut out to the top of the shorter mushroom stem as shown using Stampin' Seal or Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the other mushroom cap to the top of the long mushroom stem as shown.
