Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Pool Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 3-1/2" from Basic White Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-3/8" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 2-1/2" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" from Adhesive Sheets
- 1" square from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1" square from Pool Party Cardstock
- 7/8" square from Adhesive Sheets
- 1" x 3" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
Pick out the second largest Stitched With Whimsy Die. Put it on top of the large white rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so it is centered on the rectangle. Run through the machine.
Note: This die doesn't really cut anything out. Instead, it will add stitching texture to the cardstock.
Put the stitched white rectangle vertically on top of a piece of Grid Paper to protect your work surface.
Unscrew the large flat brush tip Water Painter and fill the barrel with water before screwing the tip back in place.
Tip: The Water Painters unscrew in the opposite direction of what you'd expect.
Squeeze the lid of the Pool Party Ink Pad to get a pool of ink in the lid. Open the pad but leave the lid exposed. Gently squeeze the Water Painter to get some drops of water in the lid. Stir the ink and liquid together with the brush tip. Pick up some watery ink from the lid using the brush tip. Swish the watery ink across the stitched white cardstock a few times along the top of the stitched vertical rectangle. Stay inside the lines. Get more watery ink on the brush tip as needed. Swipe the brush tip across some Grid Paper several times to remove the color when done. Set the cardstock aside to let it dry for a bit.
As you are ready to stamp using the Penguin Place Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the standing penguin image from the Penguin Place Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp the penguin so his head is on the bottom on the bottom edge of the remaining, vertical white strip.
Unlock the Penguin Builder Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped penguin image into the punch and get it centered in the punching area of the full penguin body. Punch.
Mount the tiny, triangular beak image from the Penguin Place Set on Block A. Ink it up with the Daffodil Delight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the penguin punch out face so the triangular beak is pointing down.
Pick out the tub/bucket die from the Hippo Dies. Put it on top of the large Pool Party rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Pick out the small circle die from the Palms Dies. Put it on top of the small Daffodil Delight square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine. Run through the machine.
Mount the "Be Cool Be Chill Be Merry" sentiment from the Penguin Place Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Basic Gray Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the long, narrow Daffodil Delight strip.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut out the sentiment by hand. Cut off the last dot and the "Be Merry" portion.
Once the watercolored stitched white rectangle is dry, proceed with the next step.
Tip: You can speed up drying using a Heat Tool if needed.
Adhere the dry, watercolored, stitched white rectangle to the front of the Pool Party card.
Adhere the bucket/tub cut out to the bottom right corner of the card front so it is just inside the stitched edges. Don't put adhesive along the top of the bucket/tub so that you can tuck the penguin into the punch.
Adhere the penguin punch out with beak stamped on him to the front of the card so his bottom is tucked into the top of the tub/bucket and he is just a tiny bit right of center of the tub.
Use Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Fine-Tip Glue Pen to adhere the cut out sentiment strip to the front of the card so it overlaps the left side of the bucket/tub a bit near the center.
Use a Stampin' Dimensional to adhere the Daffodil Delight circle cut out to the front of the card in the upper left corner so it is inside the stitched edges.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets 7/8" square. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets square to one side of the small Pool Party square. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the water droplets die from the Hippo Dies. Put it on top of the Pool Party square on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Pool Party (blue) side is face up. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
One at a time, carefully remove the protective backings from the water droplets cut outs. Adhere them to the card front just to the left of the penguin punch out over the left side of the tub/bucket as shown.
Peel the protective backing off of the Adhesive Sheets 1-1/8" x 2-3/8" rectangle. Adhere the Adhesive Sheets rectangle to one side of the 1-1/4" x 2-1/2" Daffodil Delight rectangle. Be sure to leave the other protective backing in place for now.
Pick out the dive mask die and the snorkel die from the Hippo Dies. Put them on top of the Daffodil Delight rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the Daffodil Delight (yellow) side is face up. Make sure the dies do NOT overlap. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove the pieces.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the dive mask cut out. Adhere it to the penguin punch out over his eyes as shown.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the snorkel cut out. Adhere it to the penguin punch out as shown so the round mouth piece part is centered below his beak and the flat top end is sticking out to his right side..
