F un, interactive shaker card using Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from So Saffron Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic White Cardstock
- 4" x 5-1/4" of multicolored 1/4" stripes design from Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the stripes are horizontal on the vertical rectangle
- 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" of tiny white hearts on pale blue backgound design from Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper, cut so the hearts are vertical on the vertical rectangle
- 3/4" x 4" of dashed diagonal white lines on green background design from Sunshine & Rainbows 6" x 6" Designer Series Paper
- 1" x 3" from Pool Party Cardstock
Adhere the piece of multicolored 1/4" stripes Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper to the white rectangle so all the sides are even.
Note: You won't see the white cardstock on the finished product, but it gives a little more stability to the designer paper.
Pick out the large, half rainbow die from the Brilliant Rainbow Dies. Put it on top of the stripes designer paper rectangle on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the bottom of the die is about 1/2" from the bottom of the vertical rectangle and the left edge of the die is about 3/8" from the left edge of the vertical rectangle. Run through the machine.
Note: You are using the large striped rectangle with the half rainbow cut out of it on this card. Save the cut out half rainbow arches to use on another card.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to cut a fringe along one entire long length of the green Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper strip.
Adhere the fringed strip of green designer paper to the bottom of the striped designer paper rectangle so it covers the bottom of the rainbow cut outs as grass.
Slide the piece of white hearts on pale blue background Sunshine & Rainbows Designer Paper into a Clear Medium Envelope. Make sure the hearts are right side up. Get the paper as close to the bottom and one side of the envelope as possible.
Fold the excess Clear Envelope along one edge of the designer paper to the back and secure in place with pieces of Scotch tape.
Pour a bunch of Shaker Shapes into the envelope so they are between the blue side of the designer paper and the Clear Envelope.
Remove the protective backing from the adhesive at the top of the Clear Envelope. Fold the flap of the envelope down as far as possible and seal the envelope shut. Use additional Scotch tape pieces if needed to hold the corner down.
Put Stampin' Seal as close as possible to the edges of the rainbow cut out on the back of the striped designer paper piece.
Adhere the striped designer paper piece to the top of the shaker envelope so the designer paper and Shaker Shapes show through the rainbow arch cut outs.
Put Foam Adhesive Strips along the edges of the back of the designer paper/shaker envelope piece. Cut the strips down as needed to make them fit.
Remove the protective backings from the Foam Adhesive Strips pieces and adhere the designer paper/shaker envelope to the front of the So Saffron card.
As you are ready to stamp using the Rainbow Of Happiness Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "you make me happy" sentiment from the Rainbow Of Happiness Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Misty Moonlight Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the thin Pool Party rectangle.
Use Paper Snips Scissors to trim down the words and cut the words apart by hand so you have three pieces.
Adhere the word cut outs at angles to the upper right corner of the card front as shown so the center and bottom word pieces overlap the right to edge of the rightmost rainbow arch cut out a bit.
Use the putty tip of the Take Your Pick to pick out three Daffodil Delight stars from the Shaker Shapes. Adhere the shapes as shown to the front of the card around the sentiment cut outs using small dots of Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
