I used one of the free stamp sets from Sale-A-Bration for this birthday card. If you know me, you know I struggle with coloring. Another Stampin Up demonstrator, Deb Snyder, suggested just coloring the door in this stamped image. I tried her idea and really like how it turned out.
Project Recipe
Card Base: Cut Real Red 8 ½ X 11 paper in half widthwise. You now have two pieces 8 ½ X 5 ½ . Fold one of the pieces in half lengthwise for your card front. The card front now measures 4 ¼ X 5 ½.
Card Mat: Cut Basic White paper 4 X 5 1/4
Card Front: Cut Basic Black paper 3 ⅛ X 3 ⅞. Cut Basic White paper 3 X 3 ¾. Cut Real Red stripe paper from Heartwarming Hugs 2 X 5 ¼.
Stamp Happy Birthday with black ink in the upper right corner of card.
Stamp image from Feels Like Home stamp set with black ink. I used Real Red blends to color the door. Attach black paper to your stamped, colored image.
Attach the Real Red striped strip to the center back of your stamped, colored image. Attach these to the card mat.
Attach card mat to Real Red card base.
That’s it; you have finished your card front. For the inside of your card, cut a piece of Basic White 4 X 5 ¼. Stamp a sentiment or write a note before attaching this piece inside your card.
