Project Recipe
Cut cardstock pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Cherry Cobbler Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Basic Gray Cardstock
- 3-3/4" x 5" from Whisper White Cardstock
- Cherry Cobbler Cardstock cut so it is 3-3/4" wide with an angle from 2" on the left to 3-1/4" on the right
- 3" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 4" from Whisper White Cardstock
Insert the angled piece of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock into the Sparkle Embossing Folder. Place the folder with the card stock inside on a Cutting Pad on the Big Shot Platform at the lowest possible setting. Place a Cutting Pad on top of the folder and run through the Big Shot.
Adhere the dry embossed Cherry Cobbler piece to the bottom of the large Whisper White rectangle. Then, adhere the layers to the large Basic Gray rectangle.
Cut a 5-1/2” piece of Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the cardstock layers at an angle so it covers the seam between the Cherry Cobbler and Whisper White pieces. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the Basic Gray rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Cherry Cobbler card.
Mount the skunk image from the Hey Love Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Memento Pad. Stamp it in the center of the Whisper White square.
Pick out the stitched circle die from the Stitched Shapes Dies that cuts out a 2-3/8" diameter circle. Place the stamped white square on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the stitched circle die on top so the skunk image is slightly to the left of center. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Place the stamped circle cut out on top of some paper on your work surface (Grid Paper works great). You need to make sure that you protect your work surface with paper as the Stampin' Blends Markers do bleed through.
Start coloring with the Stampin' Blends Markers. The markers have a brush tip for coloring in larger areas and a fine tip for coloring in smaller areas. Use the dark colors first and then the light colors to blend the colors and color in the spaces. Work on one area at a time so the inks will be wet and will blend easier.
Use the Dark Cherry Cobbler Marker to color in the hearts he is sprinkling.
Use the Dark Smoky Slate Marker to color in his body, arms, face, and bottom stripe on his tail.
Use the Light Smoky Slate Marker to add a shadow at his feet.
Use the Color Lifter Marker as needed to remove excess ink.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the colored skunk circle cut out to the front of the card so it is on the left side and is centered over the ribbon.
Mount the "stinkin' sweet " sentiment from the Hey Love Set on the Block B. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the white strip.
As you are ready to stamp using the Thoughtful Banners Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the curving banner with striped ends image from the Thoughtful Banners Set on Block H. Ink it up with the Cherry Cobbler Ink Pad. Stamp it over the previously stamped sentiment so the sentiment is centered.
Unlock the Duet Banner Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the sentiment banner into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Using SNAIL and a Dimensional, adhere the sentiment punch out to the card front so it overlaps the bottom right of the skunk circle.
Pick out the grouping of small open hearts die from the Be Mine Stitched Dies. Place the scrap of Cherry Cobbler Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on the Platform on the Big Shot. Place the die on top of the cardstock so you'll cut out several different sized hearts. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Use the Fine-Tip Glue Pen or Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere three different sized hearts to the upper right corner of the card front.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Cherry Cobbler 1/4" Double-Stitched Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front on the right side of the skunk circle and tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
