F un card using retiring Stampin' Up! products and heat embossing.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Pool Party Cardstock at 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" and scored at 4-1/4"
- 4" x 5-1/4" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 3-7/8" x 5-1/8" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 2" square from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
- 1-7/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 2" x 2-1/2" from Pool Party Cardstock
- 1-1/2" x 2" from Daffodil Delight Cardstock
Fold paper towels into a mat to help protect your work surface. Place the large Pool Party rectangle on the paper towel mat.
If you haven't already done so, fill a Stampin' Spritzer with water.
Lightly spritz the Pool Party rectangle with water using the Stampin' Spritzer.
Sprinkle a liberal amount of Prussian Blue Brusho onto the wet Pool Party rectangle. Spritz again with the water in the Spritzer to make the color run and blend even more. Keep spritzing until you get the saturation you want. Tilt the cardstock if desired to make the colored water move around. Blot the cardstock with a paper towel if desired to remove excess water. Set the cardstock aside to let it dry thoroughly.
Tips for working with the Brusho Crystal Colour:
- Do NOT open the lids on the containers. The powder is extremely fine and will go everywhere if you do.
- Use a push pin, thumbtack, needle, or Paper-Piercing Tool to poke two or three holes in the lids instead. Wipe the tip of the poker with a tissue between colors to prevent spreading color from one container to another.
- You may need to sharply tap the bottom of the container to get the powder to come out at first as they are very full of powder. Once some powder has come out, it should be easier to shake out more powder.
Tip: You can use a Heat Tool to speed up drying if you wish.
Mount the small hot air balloon image from the Lift Me Up Set on Block B. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 1-1/2" x 2" Daffodil Delight rectangle.
Pick out the small, open hot air balloon die from the Up & Away Dies. Place the stamped small balloon image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the balloon die on top so it is centered over the stamped balloon image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Mount the large hot air balloon image from the Lift Me Up Set on Block C. Ink it up with the Pacific Point Ink Pad. Stamp it in the center of the 2" x 2-1/2" Pool Party rectangle.
Pick out the large, open hot air balloon die from the Up & Away Dies. Place the stamped large balloon image on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the balloon die on top so it is centered over the stamped balloon image. Place another Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Daffodil Delight square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Daffodil Delight on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Daffodil Delight facing up).
Pick out the small, more solid swirl circle die from the Swirly Scribbles Dies. Place it on top of the Daffodil Delight Cardstock piece on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
If the Brusho watercolored Pool Party rectangle is dry, then proceed with the next step.
Rub the Embossing Buddy across the dry, Brusho watercolored Pool Party rectangle.
Mount the sentiment of choice from the Lift Me Up Set on Block H. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the bottom of the Brusho watercolored Pool Party rectangle in the center.
Lay the stamped cardstock piece on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers the stamped sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Mount the small cloud of choice from the Lift Me Up Set on Block A. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the Brusho watercolored Pool Party rectangle about 1" up from the stamped, heat embossed sentiment and about 5/8" from the left side.
Mount the large cloud from the Lift Me Up Set on Block B. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it on the Brusho watercolored Pool Party rectangle about 2" up from the stamped, heat embossed sentiment and about 3/8" from the right side.
Lay the stamped cardstock piece on top of some Grid Paper in the center. Sprinkle on some White Stampin' Emboss Powder so it covers both stamped cloud images. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder on the stamped clouds with the Heat Tool until it is completely melted (smooth and shiny).
Tip: Use a clothespin to hold the cardstock while using the Heat Tool to avoid burning your fingers.
Adhere the stamped, heat embossed, Brusho watercolored Pool Party rectangle to the large Daffodil Delight rectangle using Tear & Tape Adhesive along the edges.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.
Lay the ribbon across the matted cardstock layers so it is just above the stamped sentiment. Flip the layers over and fold the ends of the ribbon over. Adhere the ends of the ribbon in place with pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backing from the Tear & Tape strips and add SNAIL to the back of the Daffodil Delight rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Pool Party card.
Carefully remove the protective backing from the yellow swirly circle cut out. Adhere it to the front of the card so it is about 3/4" from the top and about 5/8" from the left edge.
Adhere the large Pool Party balloon cut out to the front of the card so it overlaps the lower right side of the swirly circle cut out.
Adhere the small Daffodil Delight balloon cut out to the front of the card using Stampin' Dimensionals so it overlaps the lower right side of the big balloon and the lower left side of the large, heat embossed cloud image.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of the Pool Party 3/8" Shimmer Ribbon.
Slide one end of the ribbon under the ribbon on the card front in the center and tie it in place using a half knot. Trim the ends.
