E legant birthday card using heat embossing and Stampin' Up! products.
Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, foil sheets, and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Paper Trimmer:
- card from Very Vanilla Thick Cardstock at 4-1/4" x 11" and scored at 5-1/2"
- 2 strips each 1/2" x 5-1/2" from Gold 12" x 12" Foil Sheets
- 3-5/8" x 5-1/2" of gold leaves on vanilla background design from Shining Brightly 12" x 12" Specialty Designer Series Paper
- 2-1/8" x 4-5/8" from Gold 12" x 12" Foil Sheets
- 2" x 4-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
- 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" from Very Vanilla Cardstock
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the 2" x 4-1/2" vanilla rectangle.
Mount the bunch of flower stems image from the Quiet Meadow Set on Block I. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the vertical vanilla rectangle.
Lay the VersaMark stamped rectangle in the center of the Powder Pal included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit. Sprinkle on some gold powder from the Metallics Stampin' Emboss Powders so it covers the entire sentiment. Tap off excess powder. Return the excess powder to the container to use again later.
Heat the powder with the Heat Tool on the highest setting until it is completely melted (shiny and smooth).
Tip: Use the Crafting Tweezers included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit to hold the cardstock while you are heating it so you don't burn your fingers.
Adhere the heat embossed flower stems image to the center of the 2-1/8" x 4-5/8" gold foil rectangle.
Adhere the matted heat embossed flower stems image to the center of the vertical Shining Brightly Specialty Designer Paper rectangle.
Rub the Embossing Buddy included in the Embossing Additions Tool Kit all over the 1-1/4" x 3-1/2" vanilla rectangle.
As you are ready to stamp using the Seasonal Branches Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the "happy birthday wishes" sentiment from the Seasonal Branches Set on Block G. Ink it up with the VersaMark Pad. Stamp it in the center of the horizontal vanilla rectangle.
Pick out the long, stitched, filigree-ends label die from the Meadow Dies. Put it on top of the heat embossed sentiment on a platform on your Stampin' Cut & Emboss Machine so the sentiment is centered in the die. Run through the machine. Use the paper-piercing tool on the Take Your Pick to remove pieces as needed.
Cut a 4-1/2" piece of the Gold & Vanilla 3/8" Satin-Edged Ribbon.
Thread the ribbon through the center holes on either end of the sentiment label cut out so the label is on top of the ribbon and centered.
Adhere the thin strips of gold foil to either long side of the designer paper rectangle so about 1/8" of gold shows along each long edge and the top and bottom edges are all even.
Lay the ribbon across the bottom of the matted designer paper rectangle so the bottom of the sentiment label is about 3/4" from the bottom and covers the bottom of the heat embossed stems. Fold the ends of the ribbon over and secure the ribbon in place on the back with strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape and add Stampin' Seal to the back of the designer paper/foil rectangle. Adhere it to the front of the Very Vanilla Thick card.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up 3 butterflies from the sheet of Brushed Brass Butterflies making sure that you get the adhesive backings as well. Adhere them to the front of the card as shown.
