Project Recipe
Cut cardstock and designer paper pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- card from Old Olive Cardstock at 4-1/2" x 9-1/2" and scored at 3-1/4", 4-3/4", and 6-1/4"
- 2-5/8" square from Real Red Cardstock
- 2-1/2" square from Whisper White Cardstock
- 1" x 4-1/2" of red, green, and white plaid design from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 3-1/2" long
Fold the Old Olive card on all score lines so you have a mountain fold in the middle with a valley fold on either side (when the open ends of the card are pointing up it should look like a W).
Flatten out the card so it is only folded on the center fold. Unlock the Classic Label Punch. Hold the punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the center of the center fold into the Classic Label Punch half way (the points on the ends of the punching area should line up with the fold in the cardstock). Punch. Slide the card over so one edge is even with the edge of the punch and the point on the end of the punching area is in line with the fold in the cardstock. Punch. Slide over and repeat on the other side making sure the side of the punch is even with the edge of the card. Leave the punch unlocked.
Put a line of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the edge of one of the valley folds on the back side. Put small strips of Tear & Tape Adhesive on the edges on either side of the punched area.
Remove the protective backings from the Tear & Tape Adhesive pieces and adhere the bottom of the card together.
Slide a gift card into the slot on the inside of the card.
Adhere the strip of Under the Mistletoe Designer Paper to the front of the card about 1/8" up from the bottom edge.
Cut a 5" piece of 5/8" Striped Burlap Trim.
Fold one end of the burlap trim in half horizontally so the fold is on the bottom of the trim. Cut at a sharp angle towards the fold. You should have a notch in one end of the trim. The trim should be about 4-1/4" long.
Put a piece of Tear & Tape Adhesive across the top of the designer paper piece on the card front. Make sure the Tear & Tape stops about 1" from the right edge. Remove the protective backing and adhere the notched piece of burlap trim so it sticks up above the top edge of the designer paper just a bit and the notch is on the right side. Trim off any excess burlap trim on the left edge.
Cut an 18" piece of Night of Navy Medium Baker's Twine.
Wrap the twine around the card so it is centered over the horizontal red stripe in the center of the burlap trim. Tie in place using a bow on the right side near the notch in the burlap trim.
Mount the two pine trees image from the Rooted In Nature Set on Block C. Use the brush tip of the Old Olive Marker to color in the tops of the pine trees. Use the brush tip of the Soft Suede Marker to color in the trunks. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp in the center of the white square so the tops of the pine trees are near the top of the square.
Mount the single pine tree image from the Rooted In Nature Set on Block B. Use the brush tip of the Old Olive Marker to color in the top of the pine tree. Use the brush tip of the Soft Suede Marker to color in the trunk. Breathe on the stamp to moisten the ink. Stamp in the center of the white square so the single tree is centered between the two previously stamped tree with the trunk near the bottom.
Adhere the stamped white square to the Real Red square.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals to adhere the matted squares to the front of the card on the left side so a bit of the designer paper shows below the squares and the top of the squares are about 1/4" from the top of the card.
Tip: The Stampin' Dimensionals will help hold the twine in place as well.
As you are ready to stamp using the Thoughtful Banners Set, place the cardstock on the Stampin' Pierce Mat. Using the mat will help you get a cleaner image each time you stamp.
Mount the Classic Label outline image from the Thoughtful Banners Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Old Olive Ink Pad. Stamp it on one end of the scrap of white cardstock.
Mount the sentiment(s) of choice from the Thoughtful Banners Set on Block G. Ink it up with the Real Red Ink Pad. Stamp in the center of the Classic Label outline already stamped.
Hold the Classic Label Punch upside down so you can see the punching area. Slide the stamped sentiment label into the punch and get it positioned in the center of the punching area. Punch.
Use a Mini Stampin' Dimensional on the back of the sentiment label punch out on the right side and SNAIL on the back of the left side to adhere the sentiment label punch out to the card front so it overlaps the right side of the trees squares and the pointed end on the right side is even with the bottom of the burlap trim.
