Project Recipe
Cut cardstock, designer paper, and Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets pieces to the following sizes using a Stampin' Trimmer:
- 8" square of small ornaments and mistletoe sprigs on white background from Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper
- 3" square from Shaded Spruce Cardstock
- 3" square from Old Olive Cardstock
- 2-7/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 1-3/4" square from Real Red Cardstock
- 1-5/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 3/4" square from Silver Foil Sheets
- 5/8" square from Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets
- 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" from Whisper White Cardstock
- scrap of Old Olive Cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide
- scrap of Whisper White Cardstock at least 1-3/4" wide
Follow the directions printed on the Envelope Punch Board for making an envelope that will hold a 3-1/2" x 6" card from the 8" square of Under the Mistletoe Designer Series Paper.
Use the corner rounder punch on the Envelope Punch Board to round the tips of the two large flaps.
Fold the envelope closed.
Tip: You can use the scoring tool from the Envelope Punch Board like a Bone Folder to get sharp fold lines.
Use small pieces of Tear & Tape Adhesive to hold the ends of three of the flaps together to make the envelope. Make sure you leave the top flap unstuck so the envelope can be opened and closed! Make sure the adhesive pieces you use are small so they don't extend past where the flaps overlap. Make sure the ornaments on the front panel of the envelope are right side up!
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the large piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Shaded Spruce square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Shaded Spruce Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Shaded Spruce facing up).
Pick out the detailed hot air balloon thinlit from the Up & Away Thinlits. Place it on top of the Shaded Spruce Cardstock on the Big Shot so that the bottom of the balloon (just above the basket) on the thinlit is even with the side of the green square. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces. Keep the detailed hot air balloon thinlit out for use in a later step.
If necessary, use Paper Snips to even off the bottom of the balloon cut out.
Peel the protective backing off of the detailed hot air balloon cut out and adhere it to the center of the Old Olive square.
Use Paper Snips to cut off excess Old Olive Cardstock around the edges of the balloon cut out.
Use SNAIL to adhere the layered balloon cut out to the left side of the designer paper envelope front at a slight angle as a Christmas ornament. Make sure the bottom of the balloon image is at the top with the curved balloon hanging down so it looks like a Christmas ornament. Leave room at the top for the "hanger" portion of the ornament to be applied and the ribbon.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the small piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to the white side of the Silver Foil Sheet square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Silver Foil Sheet on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (shiny silver facing up).
Place the detailed hot air balloon thinlit on top of the Silver Foil Sheet on the Big Shot so that the basket portion of the balloon on the thinlit is on the Silver Foil square. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
If needed, use Paper Snips to even off the basket cut out.
Peel the protective backing off of the basket cut out and adhere it to the top of the Christmas ornament on the front of the envelope so it overlaps the top of the ornament a bit.
Carefully peel up the protective backing on one side of the medium piece of Multipurpose Adhesive Sheet and adhere the adhesive sheet to one side of the Real Red square. Leave the other protective backing piece in place.
Place the piece of Real Red Cardstock on the Precision Base Plate on top of the Platform on the Big Shot so that the adhesive side (with protective backing in place) is on the bottom (Real Red facing up).
Pick out the medium-sized filigree flower thinlit from the Flourish Thinlits. Place it on top of the Real Red Cardstock on the Big Shot. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot a couple of times. Use the Die Brush and Paper-Piercing Tool to remove the pieces.
Peel the protective backing off of the flower cut out and adhere it to the center of the ornament on the envelope front.
Mount the Tags & Tidings stamp on Block F. Place the mounted stamp on Grid Paper on your work surface so the stamp is facing up. Ink up the side of the stamp with the outlined "To: From:" tag (near the bottom of the left side) with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad by rubbing or pouncing the pad on the stamp. Leave the inked up stamp laying on your work surface inky stamp side up. Place the small Whisper White rectangle on the top of the inky stamp so it covers the "To: From:" tag. Fold the Grid Paper over the stamp and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and carefully remove the cardstock from the background stamp. Leave the stamp on the block.
Place the stamped white rectangle on the Cutting Pad on top of the Magnetic Platform on the Big Shot. Place the Christmas Tags Thinlits on top so the angled corner rectangle tag near the bottom of the left side is centered over the stamped "To: From:" tag image. Place a Cutting Pad on top and run through the Big Shot.
Tip: Make sure none of the thinlit hangs over the edges of the platform or it will catch on the sides of the Big Shot which could damage your thinlit or Big Shot or both.
Cut a 4" piece of the Shaded Spruce 1/8" ribbon from the Metallic Ribbon Combo Pack.
Slide one end of the ribbon through the hole in the tag. Holding both ends of the ribbon together, tie a half knot in the ends. Trim the ends.
Use Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the tag and a Mini Glue Dot behind the knot in the end of the tag ribbon to adhere the tag to the front of the envelope so it appears to be hanging from the top of the ornament and down the left side of the ornament.
Cut a 3-1/2" piece of Silver 3/8" Metallic-Edge Ribbon.
Tie a half knot in the center of the ribbon. Trim the ends.
Use a Mini Glue Dot to adhere the ribbon knot to the top of the ornament on the card front so it also covers the end of the tag ribbon.
Use the mini spatula on the Take Your Pick to carefully peel up a large pearl from a sheet of Pearl Basic Jewels making sure that you get the adhesive backing as well. Adhere it to the center of the flower on the ornament on the envelope front.
Place the mounted Tags & Tidings stamp on Grid Paper on your work surface again so the stamp is facing up. Ink up the side of the stamp with the "Do Not Open Until Christmas" starburst tag (bottom right corner) with the Shaded Spruce Ink Pad by rubbing or pouncing the pad on the stamp. Leave the inked up stamp laying on your work surface inky stamp side up. Place the scrap of Whisper White Cardstock on the top of the inky stamp so it covers the "Do Not Open Until Christmas" starburst tag. Fold the Grid Paper over the stamp and rub firmly all over. Unfold the Grid Paper and carefully remove the cardstock from the background stamp.
Unlock the 1-1/4" Circle Punch. Holding the punch upside down so you can see the punching area, slide the stamped tag into the punch and get it centered in the punching area. Punch.
Unlock the 1-1/2" Circle Punch. Slide the scrap of Old Olive Cardstock into the punch and punch.
Adhere the starburst tag circle punch out to the center of the Old Olive circle.
Use two Mini Stampin' Dimensionals at the bottom of the matted circles to adhere them to the back of the envelope near the bottom. This will allow the top flap of the envelope to slide under the top of the circles to help keep it closed.
